My samples are not as pristine as Albers versions, but he did get his students to do them for him. Highly recommended for anyone in graphic, applied, and fine arts. Lots of interesting though I’ll be honest I appreciate that colour plates add to production costs but producing a black and white edition of an exemplified book on colour theory without the colour examples, then sticking a whole 8 token colour plates at the end, is ridiculous.

Josef Albers is a brilliant teacher, he provides enough instruction for a student reading the book to explore, but not too much as to prevent them from thinking flexibly about color. Also, it’s very text heavy, which is weird for a book about color.
This and a continued use of disliked colors will teach that preference and disl Excellent color theory reference. Recommend if you’re intrigued.

I may not be smart enough to get all this, but I really liked the parts about how certain colors together can joef us see things differently–even if the change is slight. I will do the exercises soon! I think a lot of this went over my head. No trivia or quizzes yet.
