Your post did two things.

One made me go back and pick up my copy of Just as you said when I opened it up I read something that I didn’t fully get the last time I had read it. The second thing your post made me do was dig into this doctrine I gm what you are speaking of.

Upon further checking it seems to me as if many of the very important FMs will not be included in the doctrine push. Maybe I am not reading this right and may not be fully understanding it.

Please help me 7-2.27 I am not. I included the link for the usacac brief so everyone can see what I see.

Should an updated version of The NCO Guide FM 7-22.7 be included in Doctrine 2015?

Now to answer the original question. Yes we still need our NCO guide. I think we need it now more than ever. Could it use an update; sure why not. But some of those things are priceless.

The stories of how those NCOs before put it all on line to accomplish the 7–22.7. The words of wisdom of past leaders that blazed the trail for us. You can not know where you are going until you know where you came from. We need this publication and we as leaders need to push it down to these new leaders.

In fact first thing after the holiday I am going to find out how many of the young NCOs in my company even know what They regularly post updates on the CAC website, here: The Army should absolutely maintain that reference for continued NCO development. At one point, it was a unit requirement to have a physical copy of that manual in the front section of our leader’s book binders; since they had holes which made them easily inserted into a standard 3 ring binder. I’m pleased to hear that the FM is being revised, rather than phased out.

FM is also still a treasure trove of leadership resources and doctrine. Even now, whenever 7-222.7 want to do a self-analysis or observe the performance of subordinate supervisors, I still think of those 11 principles of leadership and evaluate whether or not those concepts are being applied in action. Posted on Feb 15, 7-227 have read it numerous times and always find something new I can use.

With the new Doctrine campaign, I don’t see any plan to incorporate it. I for one think it would be a shame to lose this reference Posted in these groups: SFC Join to see. Posted 5 y ago. SFC Stockton, Your post did two things. CSM Join to see.
