Review of David Gibbins’ “Atlantis” – Cipher Mysteries
This story had so many twists and turns and storylines that intersected and diverged that I was hardpressed to put it down.

But at least most of the technical details are right. It is also an attempt at writing a techno thriller, and as such the author may have some academical knowledge about history and about archeology but is particularly clueless about technology and mechanics.

If I had looked at the ratings for all four books by David Gibbons I davkd certainly have looked elsewhere as I have rarely seen so many negative reviews for one author. At the time they were mocked, people saying stories in Homer were nothing but fiction, but those pioneers saw truth in the myths. Actually, I think this book kind of looks like a text book novel, as if the author tried to write a fiction based on a “how to write a fiction gibbijs newbies” kind of manual, and forgot to add a soul to his story and characters.
And every single character is boring.

People interested in history atlantus mythology. After page after page of tedious underwater messing about in lava flows I got totally bored with the whole thing.
